FRANCESCO LUNARDINI

FRANCESCO LUNARDINI

Francesco Lunardini is an Italian Professional Footballer who has represented a number of clubs, including Parma in Serie A. Lunardini has expanded to coaching by launching Lunardini Skills, focusing on individual development both technically & tactically.

Who were the stand out players you played with and against during your playing career?

During my career as a professional footballer in Italy, especially in the year in which I represented Parma, I had the honor and pleasure of playing against great champions of Serie A such as Clarence Seedorf, Andrea Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Pato, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani, Javier Pastore, and many others. I also played with very strong teammates such as Cristian Zaccardo, Cristian Panucci, Hernan Crespo and Luis Jimenez. Without a doubt that Serie A season was the most important of my career and it allowed my level of play to grow a lot.

Did you foresee a future in coaching for yourself earlier in your playing career?

Honestly, since I was a child, I felt that one day I would become a coach. I always liked to think I could help the new generations by transferring my football skills to the field. It's a job that satisfies me a lot and gives me great satisfaction.

What inspired you to focus on 1 on 1 training with Lunardini Skills?

What prompted me to open my individual technique academy was the desire to teach young boys all the secrets and tricks to become a professional footballer. I want to transfer all my skills to the kids that I've acquired over the years on the football field. Through my academy 'Lunardini Skills' I can carefully and individually follow each individual athlete. I can monitor his personal growth and correct any weak points. A work of attention to detail that often cannot be provided at your club.

How do youth players you now work with compare to when you were a youth player yourself?

Todays kids are fortunate to be followed much better individually in 1 on 1 training. While when we were young we didn't have this possibility and we only trained in a team context. Furthermore, today technology through social networks allows young people to find video material where they can watch numerous exercises to improve themselves. This aspect is also of great help to the new generation of players.

What are the benefits of 1 on 1 training for Pro players?

The benefits are huge, especially in the post-season period, professional footballers perfect every aspect of their game through specific sessions. Working with these athletes is very rewarding for me too, because the energy and work ethic they bring during training is of the highest level. The thing I love most about my 'Lunardini Skills' academy is that it's attended by both youth players of all ages as well as professional adult footballers.
